Does your house have Radon?

A few of our neighbors have tested their homes and found high levels of Radon Gas in their basements. Radon in homes causes lung cancer. It's as simple as that. In fact, as the number one cause of lung cancer after smoking, it's classified as a "class A carcinogen" — right up there with asbestos and arsenic.
Learn more about Radon and what can be done to reduce or eliminate this gas in your home, see the article: Building Out Radon. This article is a good general article on Radon gas and what can be done to make your home safer.
At another good website, you can learn more about Radon Gas and equipment you can install in a weekend to reduce it in your home.

Weld County Household Hazardous Waste program

You can bring your household hazardous waste to the facility on at:
5500 Highway 52, east of the Ford dealer in Dacono.
970-652-4200 x 2233

Cleaners, paints, batteries, aerosols, motor oils, oil filters, gasoline, antifreeze and pesticides are just a few examples of household hazardous waste that you should not be disposing of in your trash, on the ground or in the gutter as they cause harm to people, pets and the environment if they are not properly disposed of.  Bring your household hazardous waste to one of Weld County's household waste facilities for free disposal! This site is open every Friday and the first and third Saturdays of every month from 9am-4pm. If you have old electronic equipment that you would like to dispose of, you can take it to the Best Buy in Longmont. Check the Best Buy website for the type of equipment they will take and the maximum you can drop off for free each day.
